Dinner Menu

These are just a few examples of dinner choices at Kamahi Cottage. I love creating new dishes – if you have a special request, please ask!

  • Dinners at Kamahi Cottage are by prior arrangement only (at least 24 hours’ notice is appreciated)
  • If you’d like an intimate, private dinner, we’ll deliver your meals to the cottage whenever it suits you
  • You’re very welcome to dine in our own home with us

We also have numerous vegetarian options and can cater for those with gluten and dairy intolerances.

Rates:

  • 2 course Dinner – $50 per person
  • 3 course Dinner – $65 per person

We also stock some fine New Zealand wines that you may like to choose to complement your meal.

Entrée selections


  • Mushrooms & Bacon in a whiskey & thyme cream sauce – served on homemade toasted ciabatta bread
  • Rustic Tomato Soup – freshly made with seasonal herbs
  • Slow Roasted Pears with garlic & Rosemary served with a hot bacon dressing, blue cheese, roasted hazelnuts & home grown salad greens
  • Grilled Polenta ‘Pizza’ Wedges topped with a homemade tomato pasta sauce, pizza toppings, melted cheese plus salad greens on the side
  • Indian Lime, Coconut & Shrimp Soup – a delicately flavoured, slightly spicy soup
  • New Zealand Green-lipped Mussels with a Thai coconut cream sauce or a tangy chilli coriander dressing – served with toasted homemade ciabatta bread
  • Swiss style cheese & savoury Egg Custard Quiche served with salad greens

  • Lemon-crusted Fresh Coastal Fish baked with a lemon/parsley crumb topping – served with a fresh fruit salsa and a layered potato bake

  • Roast Lamb Rack flavoured with garlic, rosemary and lemon – served with oven roasted potato wedges
  • Chicken Maryland roasted with red wine & grapes – served with a creamy potato mash
  • Pork Chops ‘de Luxe’ oven baked with a creamy mushroom topping – served with lemon/garlic pasta
  • Prime Beef Fillet with a cream mustard sauce – served with Rosti (Swiss potato pancake)
  • Grilled New Zealand Salmon with a creamy lemon, basil and sundried tomato cream sauce couli, served with oven roasted potatoes
  • Ginger & Sesame-glazed grilled New Zealand Salmon with coconut rice and seasonal vegetables
  • “Bangers and Mash” – Sausages and mashed potato, the ultimate old-fashioned comfort food – served with sautéed onion rings, yummy gravy and fresh vegetables
  • Moroccan Chicken Casserole simmered with apricots, prunes and Middle Eastern spices – served with fragrant spicy couscous
  • Slow Roasted Lamb Shanks in a delicious spiced tomato sauce – served with Kumara mash (New Zealand sweet potato) and fresh vegetables

  • Moist Lemon & Yoghurt Cake served with fresh fruit slices and lemon cream
