
Mushrooms & Bacon in a Whiskey & Thyme Cream Sauce
Add a little whiskey to fried mushrooms, bacon, thyme and cream for a delicious entree or starter.
Melt butter and olive oil. Add minced garlic, thyme, chopped bacon and mushrooms.
Fry over medium heat until the mushrooms are golden and the bacon is crispy.
Stir in the whiskey and cream. Simmer until a silky smooth sauce covers the mushrooms. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
Place toasted ciabatta or sourdough bread on 4 serving plates. Top with mushrooms, bacon and whiskey thyme cream sauce.
Sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley and serve as an entree or light lunch dish.
